CEG Deluxe
by Jamie Wilkinson
Built with Ruby, scrAPI, jQuery, and MySQL.
Data scraped from NYU CAS Course Eval Guide.
Build a query using the dropdowns above, or try one of these:
- Easiest courses (workload, ascending)
- Best overall (overall, descending)
- Most informative (informative, descending)
- Best Politics courses (politics, overall, descending)
All data is also available as an Excel file:
ceg_evaluations.zip (500k). Let me know if you do something cool with it.
Be careful displaying more than about 200 entries, it might stall your browser.
In Firefox you can click a cell to delete that column. IE is also slower sorting columns.
You can further filter the results table using the the searchbox on the top left.
More infos
I removed the fields relating to objectives and TA's, but they're present in the Excel file. Some of the names are shortened, too.
Note that I was unable to grab year & semester data, so these are the averages from all the results I scraped. (this is high on the todo list)
Interesting factoid: the NYU CAS CEG uses code lifted from isohunt.com, a warez search engine. OK, OK, a "P2P" search engine.
