000000book 2.0
000000book 2.0 is a rebuild of 000000book, the open archive of motion-captured graffiti I started in 2009. Every tag is a GML file: the writer’s hand as coordinates and timestamps, replayable by anyone.
It’s still in progress. The new design lives in a pull request, and 000000book.com still runs the old site for now. These screenshots are from my laptop.
What’s new
- Every tag on the site is drawn live by Canvasplayer 2.0: the tag page, every cell in the grid, the app cards and the recorder
- The front page plays one tag next to a grid of the rest, and runs on to the next one like a slideshow. Click a cell or use the arrow keys
- Curated sets: Featured, Tempt1, NYC, Latest and Popular
- Tag pages with a filmstrip of neighboring tags, and a controls pane for looks, ink modes, effects and data layers
- An upload page that lists the capture apps and has a GML recorder, so you can draw a tag in the browser
- API and GML docs at /docs, also as plain markdown, plus
llms.txtand an OpenAPI file so AI agents can use it too - Under the hood: Rails 8.1, Ruby 3.4, MySQL 8.4, deploys with Docker and Kamal
