H0L0’s ReSolute night is the best thing this weekend. Lena Willikens and Paula Tape on the same bill is the rare touring lineup that earns the trip to a bigger room.
TL;DR
- 🌞 Daytime: Let’s Dance Brooklyn at Nowadays Saturday is all-ages, family-friendly, and genuinely useful—not a consolation prize.
- 🗓️ Thursday: Start at Gabriela for Eli Escobar’s free ROMANCE night; Nowadays’ Dripping is the more left-field alternative.
- 🌙 Friday night: H0L0 for Lena Willikens + Paula Tape, or keep it simple with Thee Mike B all night at Gabriela.
- 🌙 Saturday night: Nowadays Nonstop is the deep bench; Justin Strauss all night at Gabriela is the smaller-room play.
- ☀️ Sunday: Sedef Adasï takes over Mister Sunday at Nowadays, 3–9pm.
🏆 Thursday, September 17
Gabriela — ROMANCE w/ Eli Escobar
Doors/DJs at 9pm, free, 21+. Eli is still the cleanest Jamie-coded Thursday option: disco and house instincts, no inflated touring-production nonsense, and Gabriela’s small Gary Stewart/Richard Long-descended system. Go early and be home at a reasonable hour.
The alternative is Nowadays’ Dripping, with Axine M, Matük live, OKO, Oso Feo b2b Lychee, and Topdown Dialect live. The lineup is more adventurous, but the detailed event page was thin; I would only choose it over Gabriela if the live/bass angle is specifically what you want.
🏆 Friday, September 18
H0L0 — ReSolute x Aionia
Lena Willikens, Paula Tape, Mona Matsuoka, Athena, and a special guest, 10pm, from free, 21+. This is the pick: left-field electro/club pressure and cosmic weirdness in H0L0’s excellent low-end room, not hammer-techno bloat. Tickets are on DICE; confirm the door price before leaving.
🆗 Other Friday options
- Gabriela — Thee Mike B all night — 9pm doors, DJs 10pm–late; free before 10pm, $20 after, cash only. The dependable small-room option.
- Nowadays — Thinner Groove — Powder, 5ive, and CZ Wang, 10pm–close; $20+, with a $10 RSVP before 11pm/$15 before midnight. Worth considering if you want a no-phones floor and a more heads-down selector night.
- Good Room — Eli Escobar + Eternal Love, both all night — a solid Greenpoint fallback, but H0L0 has the stronger bill.
🏆 Saturday, September 19
Nowadays — Nonstop
10pm Saturday through 3pm Sunday, $20+, RSVP available: Mariposa, DJ Masda, Vlada b2b Vaahzer, Roza Terenzi, JASSS b2b MORENXXX, and Batu. This is the proper Saturday choice if you have the stamina: a broad, international, no-phones Nowadays marathon with enough broken, electro, and left-field material to avoid the usual genre rut. Nonstop ticket holders can also enter Sunday’s Mister Sunday without a separate ticket.
🆗 Smaller-room alternative: Gabriela — Justin Strauss all night
9pm doors, free before 10pm, $20 after, cash only. Justin is a New York selector with the right classic-house/disco lineage, and this will be much less of a commitment than an overnight marathon. For Jamie’s actual logistics, this may be the smarter plan.
🌞 Daytime / Early-Start Picks
Let’s Dance Brooklyn x UPLIFTED at Nowadays, 2–8pm, all ages/family-friendly, $10–$15 (or $25 for a group of up to four). Ali Coleman and Bridge are on the bill. This is the rare daytime event that works both as a family outing and as a real dance-floor plan; it also leaves you free to decide later whether Saturday night is happening.
Mister Sunday: Sedef Adasï Takeover runs Sunday, 3–9pm. RSVP reduces the price but does not guarantee entry. Sedef Adasï taking the full session is enough reason to prioritize it; if you buy Nonstop, Sunday’s entry is bundled.
❌ What to Skip (and why)
- BASEMENT / Wata Igarashi — wrong-room/hammer-techno direction for this newsletter.
- Any big-room Brooklyn festival-style listing — the weekend already has better options in Gabriela, H0L0, and Nowadays; do not trade those rooms for scale.

Weekend of September 25–27
- Nowadays — Time Passages with Binh, Tal Fussman & Shvili (Sep 25) — a more restrained club-night option than the weekend marathons.
- Gabriela — Cherry Pop w/ Nadine & Rider (Sep 25) — free before 10pm, $20 after; worth watching for a small-room disco/house night.
- Gabriela — Stiffdance all night (Sep 26) — the venue’s resident-led format remains a strong bet.
- Gabriela — Tiki Afters w/ Jubilee (Sep 27) — this is the one to circle: daytime-adjacent, free, and Jubilee’s Miami-bass/electro/freestyle sensibility is a direct Jamie fit.
Weekend of October 2–4
- Nowadays — x3butterfly invites Skee Mask & Shai FM (Oct 2) — breakbeat/bass and a much better use of a Friday than generic techno; $30+.
- Nowadays Nonstop (Oct 3–4) — Angel D’lite b2b tINI, DJ Fart in the Club, Eli Verveine, and Francesco Del Garda, 10pm–3pm. 🎟️ This is a serious one for the calendar: buy ahead if the RSVP price is still reasonable.
Weekend of October 9–11
- RA25: New York City at Good Room (Oct 9) — Nick León, Galcher Lustwerk hybrid set, adobeprincess, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale b2b Kilopatrah Jones, Baalti, and a special guest. Good Room is a sensible scale for this anniversary lineup; worth monitoring rather than rushing to a giant room.
🎵 Playlist
The persistent Dope NYC Dance Parties playlist was not updated this week: Spotify authentication failed during playlist retrieval/search, so I did not risk modifying it.
My verdict
- Thursday: Eli Escobar at Gabriela.
- Friday: H0L0’s ReSolute x Aionia; Thee Mike B at Gabriela if you want less travel and more room to breathe.
- Saturday: Let’s Dance Brooklyn in the afternoon, then either Justin Strauss at Gabriela or the full Nowadays Nonstop.
- Sunday: Sedef Adasï at Mister Sunday—especially if you bought the Nonstop ticket.
