🪩 Dope NYC Dance Parties · August 28, 2026
Jubilee’s ALL NIGHT LONG at Gabriela is Saturday’s marquee, but Joe Claussell’s Ruins debut alongside Floorplan the same afternoon might be the better call if you can only pick one.
TL;DR
- 🌞 Daytime: Joe Claussell makes his Ruins debut with Floorplan for Chaos In The CBD’s “Dust Till Dawn,” Sat 3pm–5am — deep house royalty, day into night
- 🗓️ Thursday: Body Hack at Nowadays — Archangel’s queer bass/club night, Lot Radio-aesthetic residency — edges out Eli Escobar’s ROMANCE at Gabriela
- 🌙 Friday night: Vladimir Ivkovic All Night at Nowadays — a rare NYC booking for the Salon des Amateurs legend — vs. the Gabriela residents’ Night & Day takeover at Signal
- 🌙 Saturday night: Jubilee 🎟️ ALL NIGHT LONG at Gabriela — Miami bass/electro/freestyle from a genuine trust-list touring artist
- ☀️ Sunday: Mister Sunday’s weekly with Eamon Harkin at Nowadays vs. Leon Vynehall All Day at Public Records’ The Nursery
- 📅 Weekday pick: Quiet Mon–Wed (Aug 31–Sep 2) after — nothing worth rearranging for, no Labor Day day parties surfaced yet
🗓️ Thursday, August 27
Body Hack: Archangel, umru, Clit.hub, Saintclair, Ivy Fischer, Quetamine, swello at Nowadays
Archangel organizes and DJs Body Hack, a Nowadays/Lot Radio-residency club night built around diaspora bass, jersey club, and queer club sounds — exactly the QTPOC underground / Lot Radio aesthetic Jamie’s taste profile flags as a positive signal. No big touring name, all locals, which is usually the better bet.
🆗 Other Thursday option
- ROMANCE w/ Eli Escobar at Gabriela — Eli Escobar’s weekly: sad bangers, emotional pop, danceable indie-sleaze. Free before 10 / $20 after, cash only. The reliable default if Body Hack’s crowd isn’t your speed.
🏆 Friday, August 28
Vladimir Ivkovic All Night at Nowadays
Vladimir Ivkovic is the Belgrade-born, Düsseldorf-based Salon des Amateurs resident and Offen Music label founder — a career built on low-BPM, psychedelic digging across coldwave, industrial, and outsider dance music, the same DNA that produced Lena Willikens and Tolouse Low Trax. He rarely plays NYC; this is a full 8-hour set. 10pm–6am.
🆗 Other Friday option
- Night & Day: Eli Escobar, The Carry Nation, Dee Diggs, Arvin T b2b Sissies of Mercy at Signal — the Gabriela/Public Records residents taking their sound to Signal’s no-phones room for a marathon 10pm–1pm (Sat) run. The Carry Nation (Nita Aviance & Will Automagic) have run Good Room’s signature queer party for over a decade; Dee Diggs is a Public Records resident since 2021.
🏆 Saturday, August 29
Jubilee 🎟️ // ALL NIGHT LONG at Gabriela
Jubilee is a genuine trust-list touring artist — Miami bass, electro, and freestyle, NAAFI-adjacent NYC party-scene cred. This is the marquee Gabriela date of the month and the one most likely to sell out; buy ahead. Free before 10 / $20 after, cash only (RSVP recommended given demand).
🆗 Other Saturday option
- Norm Talley, Francis Harris & Tal, Sav G / NAP & deep creep at Public Records — Norm Talley is Detroit deep house royalty (foundational since 1982); Francis Harris co-runs Scissor & Thread and plays moody, dubby house as Frank & Tony. A rare PR night worth the trip if Gabriela and the Ruins are both spoken for.
🌞 Daytime / Early-Start Picks
Chaos In The CBD presents “Dust Till Dawn”: Joe Claussell (Ruins debut), Floorplan, Shy One + more — Ruins at Knockdown Center, Sat Aug 29, 3pm–5am
Joe Claussell (Ibadan Records, Spiritual Life Music) is a genuine spiritual deep-house legend making his first-ever appearance in the Ruins. Floorplan — Robert Hood and daughter Lyric’s gospel-and-disco-infused house project — joins for the day-into-night run. The Ruins is the one good room at an otherwise-skippable venue, and this is exactly the trusted-artist exception worth flagging. 🎟️ — book ahead, this is a rare booking.
Mister Sunday: Eamon Harkin All Day at Nowadays, Sun Aug 30, ~3–9pm
The weekly signature daytime party, no guest headliner this week but Eamon Harkin always plays a full, dependable set. No-phones, outdoor-into-indoor format, still the best default Sunday plan with a kid in tow.
The Nursery: Leon Vynehall All Day at Public Records, Sun Aug 30
Leon Vynehall records for Ninja Tune — good-label pedigree — and DJs a percussive, house-rooted set with real range. A legitimate alternative to Mister Sunday if you want the smaller, audiophile room instead.
No Tiki Disco this week — it’s biweekly and last ran Aug 23; next date TBD, likely early September.
❌ What to Skip (and why)
- CHERRY POP w/ Nadine + Rider at Gabriela (Fri) — fine but generic Friday club sounds; skip in favor of Ivkovic or Signal this week.
- Nowadays Nonstop: Leeon, LOKA, MCMLXXXV, Ne/Re/A, Solofan, Voices From The Lake (live) (Sat) — decent dub-techno/ambient pedigree on paper (Voices From The Lake is Donato Dozzy & Neel), but the rest of the bill skews harder techno than Jamie’s lane; Gabriela or the Ruins are the better Saturday calls.
- DAYTONA 500 BIRTHDAY BASH at Bossa Nova (Thu) — thin lineup, low RA interest (22); nothing to vouch for.
- Mochakk, DJ SWISHA, nocapz., Leonce in The Ruins (Sun) — Mochakk is commercial Brazilian tech-house, wrong crowd for the Ruins’ good room.

Weekend of September 4–6
- Shock Value Nonstop: B0YG1RL, DILUVIA, DICAP, Juliana Huxtable, Sewa Choki, TYGAPAW, Via App at Nowadays (Sat Sep 5) 🎟️ — Huxtable is an NYC underground fixture (writer/artist/DJ) with real Discwoman-adjacent cred; queer club/bass-leaning lineup, Nonstop format runs into Sunday.
- Lloyd’s Bday ft. Beautiful Swimmers at Good Room (Fri Sep 4) — Lloyd is a Gabriela resident since 2019; Beautiful Swimmers bring cosmic disco/balearic touring pedigree. A strong, lower-key Friday alternative.
- Hot Since 82 with Danny Tenaglia, Juliet Mendoza, Kilopatrah Jones at Knockdown Center (Sat Sep 5, confirmed date — corrects last cycle’s placeholder of Sep 11–12) — Tenaglia is an NYC house/techno legend worth seeing on principle, but the Hot Since 82 headline slot skews more commercial tech-house than Jamie’s lane. Tempered expectations.
Weekend of September 11–13
- ReSolute presents: MUSCLECARS All Night Long at H0L0 (Sat Sep 12) — Coloring Lessons’ own soulful-house/disco selectors, a trust-list name, doing a full residency-style set at the venue with the city’s best low-end. Top pick of the three weekends out.
- Jyoty & SHYBOI at Signal (Sat Sep 12) — Jyoty (Rinse FM, gqom/global club) teams up with SHYBOI again for a danceable, underground gqom night.
Weekend of September 18–20
- Eli Escobar (all night) at Good Room (Fri Sep 18) — worth flagging early since Good Room dates with Eli tend to move fast; nothing else notable surfaced yet for this weekend.
🎵 Playlist
⚠️ The Spotify playlist could not be updated this week — the connection is still returning an auth error (same expired-token issue as the last two cycles, not yet reconnected). The persistent playlist is here once reconnected: Dope NYC Dance Parties.
Artists with Spotify presence worth queuing up manually this week: Floorplan, Joe Claussell, Norm Talley, Leon Vynehall, Eamon Harkin. SoundCloud-only or thin-Spotify picks (linked above): Vladimir Ivkovic, Archangel, Eli Escobar, Jubilee, The Carry Nation, Dee Diggs, Arvin T, Francis Harris, MUSCLECARS, Jyoty, SHYBOI, Juliana Huxtable, Lloyd.
My verdict
Thursday: Body Hack at Nowadays over ROMANCE — locals, bass, and a better crowd. Friday: Vladimir Ivkovic at Nowadays is the rarer booking, but the Signal takeover is a fine backup if you want company. Saturday: split the day — Joe Claussell and Floorplan in the Ruins from 3pm, then Jubilee at Gabriela once the sun’s down. Sunday: Mister Sunday, as ever, unless the smaller Public Records room with Leon Vynehall is calling.
