Floating Points at Mister Sunday is the weekend’s best plan: save your energy for Sunday afternoon.
🪩 Dope NYC Dance Parties · Friday, October 23, 2026
TL;DR
- 🌞 Daytime: Honcho at H0L0 Saturday from 3pm; prioritize Sunday.
- 🗓️ Thursday: Eli Escobar at Gabriela, or dub at Public Records.
- 🌙 Friday: G I N A at Gabriela; Danny Daze for electro/bass.
- 🌙 Saturday: Mozhgan at FIXED; Love Injection in Gowanus.
- ☀️ Sunday: Floating Points + Justin Carter, Nowadays, 3–9pm. Floating’s solo slot: 6pm.
🗓️ Thursday, October 22
Gabriela: Romance with Eli Escobar is the uncomplicated resident-house/disco choice. Confirmed bill, doors 9pm; Gabriela’s usual policy is free before 10pm/$20 afterward, cash only—check the night’s terms.
Public Records: Sinai Sound System featuring Lasai is the distinctive detour: Sheffield dub/steppers rather than interchangeable house. 10:30pm, $26.78, DICE. Bass pressure close to home, though not an early finish.

Gabriela — G I N A all night
G I N A is a Gabriela resident whose club mix connects dark disco, acid, techno and UKG; her freestyle/Italo side makes this particularly Jamie-shaped. One selector, small room, no headliner handoff: this beats chasing a bigger bill. Doors 9pm; DJs from 10pm; listed until 3am. Free before 10pm, $20 afterward, cash only; no presale. Event. Arrive before ten, but don’t mistake doors for DJ start.
🆗 Other Friday options
- Toribio, Green Room — trusted local selector on Golden Record × Vin.ly × 333’s bill. 11pm–10am, tickets; his slot/price unverified. Strong smaller-room alternative; don’t assume he plays early.
- Danny Daze all night, Nowadays — Miami/Omnidisc, electro and booty bass with enough room to get strange. The strongest alternative if bass wins over disco. 10pm–6am, tickets/RSVP; current presale tier unverified.
- Jubilee at BASEMENT’s Studio — Magic City electro/grime/dancehall is an actual reason to consider this venue. FIST listing; check her slot before committing. This is a Studio-specific recommendation, not an endorsement of the entire harder bill.
- Soul in the Horn with Natasha Diggs, The Chocolate Factory — soulful house/funk/hip-hop community alternative. Organizer-linked tickets confirm 10pm, 70 Scott Avenue; price unverified. Less small-room certainty than Gabriela, but musically aligned.

Good Room — FIXED with Mozhgan
Mozhgan, from San Francisco’s We Are Monsters, connects psychedelic electronics, dark disco and patient, oddball club records. With JDH & Dave P, this is the clearest late-night fit for your synth/indie-dance side. Universal Cave handles the Bad Room all night: a balearic/disco escape hatch. 10pm–5am, tickets; live price tier not verified.
🆗 Other Saturday options
- Love Injection, Public Records — their Lot Radio sensibility in the Atrium all night. The sound-room guests celebrate BBE’s 30th anniversary. Disco/soulful-house depth, minimal travel. 11pm, from $23.69, DICE.
- DEBONAIR, Green Room — NTS selector linking post-punk, EBM, Italo and techno; a compelling smaller, no-phone-floor alternative. 10pm–8am, Golden Record × FIGA tickets; price unverified. This is genre-fluid programming, not generic pounding.
🌞 Daytime / Early-Start Picks
Saturday: Honcho at H0L0, 3pm–7am. Pittsburgh’s queer Hot Mass collective takes the long, multi-space format; Carlos Souffront is the adventurous-selector draw. Come for an afternoon/evening session, not a sixteen-hour assignment. Official calendar and tickets; price and individual set times unverified. Don’t assume Souffront plays early.
Sunday: Mister Sunday with Floating Points + Justin Carter, 3–9pm. This is a DJ party, not a live concert: deep digging across house, soul, jazz and electronic records in the best daytime format. Published schedule: Carter 3–6pm, Floating 6–8pm, together 8–9pm. Tickets; early-entry tickets require arrival 3–4pm. Buy the entry window you can actually make; current price unverified.
❌ What to Skip
- Floating Points at Refuge Saturday: musically excellent, but the venue’s own calendar says sold out. Don’t build the weekend around an unavailable ticket; Sunday is the better logistics fit anyway.
- Public Records Friday’s main techno bill: less specifically aligned than the weekend’s disco/electro options—not a blanket rejection of techno.
- SILO’s regular Friday/Saturday bills: checked; neither beats these picks. Next Thursday is a different story.
📅 On the Radar — Next 3 Weeks
Planning picks, not verified sellout alerts.
Weekend of October 30
- Thursday 29: SHADES, SILO — distorted, dub-weight halftime: exactly the forward-moving bass lane rather than repetitive DnB.
- Friday 30: Synthicide Halloween, Good Room — Andi + Terence Fixmer. EBM/synth lineage; Friday, not Halloween Saturday.
- October 30–November 1: Nowadays Halloween Nonstop — DJ Stingray for electro, Rene Wise for disciplined hypnotic techno. Choose a session. Tiki Disco at Good Room October 31 is another trusted option—but a club night, not daytime Ruins.
Weekend of November 6
- November 7–8: TraTraTrax Nonstop, Nowadays — Verraco b2b Pariah. Highest-priority advance plan for global bass/psychedelic rhythm.
Weekend of November 13
- Friday 13: Tempa at Nowadays — re:ni is the dubstep/broken-beat pull. November 14–15: No Way Back Nonstop extends the Detroit-rooted psychedelic approach across 24 hours; Souffront and Mike Servito are strong signals.
🎵 Playlist
Dope NYC Dance Parties was not refreshed: Spotify access failed; existing tracks were left untouched. Producers’ Spotify profiles are linked above. For mix-first selectors with no confirmed Spotify match this pass—G I N A, Mozhgan, Honcho, Souffront and DEBONAIR—use the linked SoundClouds rather than namesakes.
My verdict
Thursday: Eli. Friday: G I N A. Saturday: Honcho early, or FIXED late—not both by obligation. Sunday: Floating Points at Nowadays; that’s the anchor.
Checked October 21 against official calendars, ticket pages and indexed RA. RA’s browser was blocked; Instagram/community coverage used indexed searches, not live stories. No date-verified outdoor popup cleared the filter. Prices and set times can change.
