DefDAO

DefCrypto/DefDAO is a collective of independent creators who build things and learn from each other. It mostly happened in Discord and at our biweekly demos, plus a couple of in-person demo nights in NYC. Shoutout to USV and Betaworks for hosting. I helped organize it. Things are quieter now.
History
The member list starts in September 2021, right around the Gawds launch. I’m #1, joined 2021-09-22, with Casey Pugh (cpu) the next day. Then a big wave joined on October 1, Gawds launch day.
The site was first called “Definitely Crypto”. It’s now “Definitely Demo’ing”. The about page says we’re over 400 people. If you don’t know a member, you can ask for an invite via @defdao on Twitter.

Demos
The demos are the heart of it. I started them during COVID: a biweekly video call where people show whatever they’re building, half-finished is fine. Each slot is 15 minutes, 10 to demo and 5 for questions.
I wrote up the demo rules we use. My favorite: “If we do a demo session without glitches, we have failed.” Demos are private by default, and nobody posts someone else’s work without asking. The site’s current name, “Definitely Demo’ing,” is a pretty good summary of where the group ended up.
