Glif

One of the five Glif v2 launch videos, all made with Glif. Also on YouTube.
Glif is a creative AI agent for marketers and small businesses. Tell it what you want in plain words, drop in a product photo or your brand guide if you have one, and Glif picks from 100+ AI models and tools for images, video, audio and text, runs each step and hands back finished media. Then you ask for changes until it’s right.
People use it for ads, product photos, short social videos, YouTube thumbnails, music videos, voiceovers and memes. One brief can turn into a whole campaign that shares the same look. You can also drive it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through the Glif MCP server.
I’m the co-founder and CTO. Fabian Stelzer and I started it in late 2022.

Glif v2: the creative agent
In April 2026 we launched Glif 2.0. We rebuilt it from scratch around one agent that does the model-picking and plumbing for you, instead of you wiring up workflows by hand. To prove the point, Glif made all five of its own launch videos, including the anime one above.

The same day we announced a $17.5 million seed round led by a16z and USV, with Interface, Two Small Fish Ventures and SpiceCap.
Glif v1: “all prompts, no code”
The first Glif was a creator platform, an “all-prompts, no-code” generative AI sandbox. It started with Fabian’s HOLOSHEET, a Google Sheet that chained GPT-3 and Stable Diffusion together to write illustrated stories:
HOLOSHEET, story edition. From Fabian's tweet, October 3, 2022.
We turned that idea into a website. You wired a few prompts and models together into a little AI mini-app called a glif, shared it, and anyone could run it or remix it into their own. For a while we also called them “spells.”

One block in the builder, November 2023. Each block is a model call, and blocks feed into each other.
My Geocities glif, December 2023. Type a theme, get a homepage.
A dev build of the homepage, January 2024. The headline was itself a glif, so every click re-rolled it.
On v1 you could:
- Build image generators, meme makers, tarot bots, text adventures and tiny web pages
- Chain together multiple AI models (Flux, GPT-4, Claude, Stable Diffusion, etc.)
- Share and remix other people’s glifs
- Run glifs via API, Discord bots, or MCP integrations
The homepage, June 2025.
By mid-2025 glifs were growing into agents that could chat and call tools, and the homepage followed. That’s the road that led to v2.

The Wojak moment
In June 2024 a Wojak meme generator built on Glif took off. Know Your Meme tracked it spreading across Reddit, Instagram and X, including a post from Marc Andreessen that got over 3,000 likes in a day. Know Your Meme also gave Glif its own entry, which felt like coming full circle.
Most popular glifs, June 28, 2024. The Wojak Meme Generator was at 383K runs.
