A free Chrome extension that alerts you when booking travel to places with dangerously discriminatory LGBTQ+ laws - countries like Uzbekistan, Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and yes, Florida.
Works on Booking.com, Kayak, Google Flights, and other travel sites. The idea is to help people make informed decisions about where they spend their money.
I helped build this with the Center for Artistic Activism (C4AA).
We launched this on #LGBTQTourismDay 2023 to call attention to the UN’s World Tourism Organization hosting its General Assembly in Uzbekistan, where authorities investigate, imprison, and torture gay men. Kazakhstan decriminalized homosexuality in 1998, so change is possible - with enough pressure.
Built with vanilla JavaScript. Works on Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, and other Chromium browsers. Open source (MIT).
