Sunday at Public Records is the move: proper UKG-meets-NYC bass, a 4pm start, and no Halloween-night endurance test.
TL;DR
- 🌞 Daytime: Sunday Public Records; Saturday Nowadays if you want the bigger musical workout.
- 🗓️ Thursday: Free Romance at Gabriela, or SHADES at SILO for low-end punishment.
- 🌙 Friday: Green Room for adventurous club music; the headline set is very late.
- 🌙 Saturday: Gabriela for disco. Tiki Disco is the door-ticket gamble, not a guaranteed plan.
- ☀️ Sunday: Public Records for bass; Mister Sunday’s season closer for outdoor house.
Times are New York local. Ticket tiers/prices were checked Wednesday morning, October 28; they can change. Prices below are the displayed totals unless stated otherwise. Clocks go back overnight Saturday—use the promoters’ published timetables.
🗓️ Thursday, October 29
Romance at Gabriela — Eli Escobar, big emotions and pop records, not a promise of his usual disco set. Still the easiest low-commitment night: 9pm–3am, free, intimate room, trusted selector.
SHADES at SILO — SHADES’ distorted halftime/bass is the more specific musical hit: downstream of drum & bass without another straight DnB night. 9pm–3am; RA final tier $54 available when checked. The DICE listing surfaced too, but its price information conflicted; use checkout, not a search snippet.
Body Hack at Nowadays starts at 8pm with a trans-community fundraiser and market. Online tickets sold out, but organizers explicitly promise door entry tickets: $25/pay-what-you-can. Admission remains capacity-dependent.
🏆 Friday, October 30
Green Room — Level III Halloween
Bambounou’s 50Weapons/AD93/BAMBE lineage means percussive, off-center club music rather than industrial bludgeoning. Small, no-phone room: a strong combination. The catch is scheduling: his set is 3–5am, so this isn’t an early-headliner recommendation.
Event/tickets: 10pm–8am; $40.25 second release or $34.50 after-3am entry showed available. Buy the entry type you actually intend to use.
🆗 Lower-commitment option
Cherry Pop at Gabriela — the promoter promises pop and rock-and-roll, so think messy Halloween fun rather than a house masterclass. Doors 9pm, DJs 10pm; free before 10, $20 after, cash only; no presales.
🏆 Saturday, October 31
Best musical plan: Nowadays, in daylight
Halloween Nonstop makes the afternoon the main event: Juliana Huxtable 11am–2pm, Philippa Pacho 2–5pm, then Rene Wise 5–9pm. This is the hypnotic, rhythmically adventurous techno lane you like—not a reason to apply a blanket techno veto.
🎟️ The 10am–3pm Saturday entry window was available at $59.20; the other listed Saturday windows were sold out. Arrive within your window; you can stay afterward. Nowadays holds door tickets, but don’t build Halloween around guaranteed walk-in admission.
Best actual Saturday night: Natasha Kitty Katt at Gabriela
Natasha Kitty Katt brings the disco/nu-disco/indie-dance lane, with Ghetto Disco releases to preview. A single selector all night in your preferred room beats collecting famous names across town. Doors 9pm, DJ from 10pm; listed through 3:30am, free before 10, $20 after, cash only, no presales.
Tiki Disco Halloween at Good Room is absolutely your party, but not daytime this time: 10pm–4am. Online allocation sold out; the organizer explicitly promises additional $30 door tickets, first-come, and recommends arriving early. Worth trying if Tiki is the priority; Gabriela is my simpler call.
🌞 Sunday, November 1
Public Records: Conducta b2b AceMo, 4pm–midnight. Conducta’s Kiwi Rekords/UKG world against AceMo’s gritty NYC house/footwork range: the strongest taste match, close to home. Atrium starts at 4; Sound Room opens at 6. Before-5pm entry $17.25; first release $28.75 showed available.
Mister Halloween Sunday, Nowadays, 3–9pm: the outdoor season closer. Eamon Harkin opens; Justin Carter is scheduled after running the NYC Marathon—genuinely. $37.65 tier available; reduced-entry RSVP isn’t guaranteed admission. Pick this over Public Records if one last backyard house session matters more than bass.
Bass alternative: Golden Record at Green Room has Ploy Sunday 4–7pm—Hessle Audio/Timedance credentials, excellent fit. Sunday-after-8am Green Room-only tickets showed $22.85. Don’t accidentally buy secret-location-only admission.
❌ What to Skip
- Synthicide at Good Room, Friday: right taste, but all listed advance tiers sold out. No verified door allocation; not a dependable plan.
- Dope Jams at Public Records, Saturday: musically plausible, but an $86.20 final tier makes it a poor-value choice against this weekend’s alternatives.
- Festival-scale Halloween rooms: a good artist doesn’t repair the crowd or logistics.
📅 On the Radar — Next 3 Weeks
November 6–8
- KEIN KLUB, H0L0, November 6: Martyn plus Kendal: bass-rooted electronics into Italo. Second release available.
- TraTraTrax Nonstop, Nowadays, November 7–8: prioritize Verraco b2b Pariah, Sunday noon–3pm. Entry windows available; my first radar purchase.
November 13–15
- Tempa label night, Nowadays, November 13: re:ni, dubwise bass/techno/electro; general admission available.
- No Way Back Nonstop, Nowadays, November 14–15: 24-hour Bunker programming; daytime entry windows available.
- DJ Harvey at Knockdown, November 13: DJ Harvey is an exceptional-bill caveat, main room, not Ruins. Tickets available; small-room alternatives still win for crowd comfort.
November 20–22
- Laurel Halo all night, Nowadays, November 20: Laurel Halo, selector mode; general admission available.
- Dekmantel Nonstop, Nowadays, November 21–22: DeepChord live at 1am Sunday, Helena Hauff Sunday 7–10pm. Windows available; choose live dub-techno or the electro closing shift.
🎵 Playlist
The standing playlist was not refreshed this week: Spotify access failed. Use the artist links above for previews; Justin Carter’s SoundCloud is linked rather than guessing a same-name Spotify match.
My verdict
Thursday: free Gabriela. Friday: Green Room only if a late one is realistic. Saturday: Nowadays afternoon; Gabriela if you want a night instead. Sunday: Public Records at 4—unless the Mister Sunday season closer wins your heart.
